GT-R Festival Australia has become one of the most important events on the calendar for Skyline, GT-R and JDM enthusiasts. Bringing together some of the best builds and workshops in the country, the event celebrates every generation of the GT-R model and the incredible culture behind it. From clean street cars and pristine collector examples to serious high-powered racing machines, GT-R Festival continues to showcase the best of the Australian GT-R community.
For the Carbonetics team, GT-R Festival is always more than just a car show. It is a chance to connect with the community, speak directly with customers, showcase new products, and see the standard of builds that continue to push the Australian GT-R scene forward.
In 2026, we were proud to attend GT-R Festival once again, continuing our support of the event as we have in previous years. Despite the challenging weather, the turnout, atmosphere, and quality of cars on display were outstanding. It was great to see so many enthusiasts, builders, workshops, and owners come together through a shared passion.
This year, we had three cars on display, each representing a different side of what we do at Carbonetics.
The first was our customer’s white R35 GT-R, fitted with our well-known 2017 Nismo carbon and plastic kit. The car showcases a more aggressive and modern take on the R35 platform. This is a go to for customer looking to transform their R35.
The second was a community favourite, our customer’s black GT-R sitting on air suspension, bringing a clean and refined street/show presence to the stand.
The third was our own Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R, fitted with our new Z-Tune dry carbon front end, which became one of the key highlights of our display.
The R34 GT-R received a huge amount of attention throughout the event, especially because of the dry carbon Z-Tune front end. This setup was built to highlight the quality, finish, and fitment of the new generation of Carbonetics parts. As we continue to move further into the development of dry carbon products, the R34 gave us the perfect platform to showcase our Z-Tune dry carbon range, including the front bumper, front fenders, hood and front lip.
One of the standout moments for us was having members of the Nissan NISMO team come past the stand to inspect the R34 GT-R. They spent time talking to the staff, looking over the dry carbon front end and gave great feedback on the quality, finish, and fitment of the product. For our team, receiving that level of attention and positive feedback was a proud moment and a strong reflection of the work that has gone into developing these parts.
GT-R Festival 2026 was also the perfect opportunity for us to showcase some of our newest products, including our plastic Z-Tune kit. This kit has been developed to give owners a more accessible option while still achieving the iconic Z-Tune-inspired look. Alongside our dry carbon range, it reflects our goal of offering products for different types of builds, from street cars and show cars to premium carbon-focused projects.
Another key highlight from the event was the unveiling of one of our customer’s high-horsepower R35 GT-R builds. Fitted with our 2017 Nismo plastic and carbon kit, along with our dry carbon Top Secret hood, the car had an incredible presence on display. Finished in an immaculate one-off paint colour designed to match the owner’s other monster build, it was a perfect example of how the right aero package, finish, and attention to detail can completely transform the R35 platform.
What makes GT-R Festival special is the community. Even with less-than-ideal weather, the energy around the event remained strong. The quality of builds, the attention to detail, and the passion from owners and spectators are what make this event stand out every year.
As a brand with strong roots in the Nissan, Skyline and GT-R platforms, it means a lot for Carbonetics to be part of an event like this. We love seeing these builds in person, seeing our products fitted to some of the best cars in the country, talking to customers about their projects, and being surrounded by people who share the same passion for these cars.
A huge thank you to the GT-R Festival team and everyone who came past the Carbonetics stand, checked out the cars, asked questions and showed support. Events like GT-R Festival remind us why we continue to develop new products and push for better quality, better fitment, and better options for the GT-R community.
